And it's not any harder to use than the other mod managers, in fact, it even comes with a built-in tutorial that explains how to use it. it automatically fixes mod load order for you to avoid any conflicts. Of course it also includes LOOT integration, i. Now I can switch between mods and even different versions of one mod by simply clicking and dragging.

Not just reinstall, purge the game's folder, then reinstall.ĭid that once, looked for a solution, and switched to MO2. And if you did something in the wrong order, you may have to start over from scratch, too.Īnd when the data folder gets messed up, which happened to me with the other mod managers before I switched to MO2, you'll have to reinstall the whole game from scratch.

If you don't keep perfect track of everything, one update could mean reinstalling everything or cause unexpected trouble later. And if you don't know for sure if Mod C did also overwrite parts of A, you'd have to reinstall that as well.

The most important reason is that MO2 supports complete mod isolation through virtual folders, so it doesn't mess up your data folder and makes reordering mods so much easier.Įxample: If you install Mod A, then Mod B which overwrites parts of A, then Mod C and so on, once you update Mod A, you'll have to reinstall all the mods that overwrote parts of it to get back to a consistent state. Once you get a bit more into modding, there's just no alternative. Nice writeup! I fully agree, MO2 is the best.

Thanks to Primo37 for alerting me to this with his thread here:Īnd special thanks to Thomas Brix Larsen for creating the plug in!!! Maybe the best tutorial of this sort I've ever seen. In the tutorial you actually install a mod, so it's very hands on, as opposed to just reading a bunch of text boxes. Mod Organizer 2 has a built in tutorial that takes you step by step through the process of how to use it and I recommend running through it once to get started. Start up Mod Organizer 2, then select/create a new "instance" in the mod menu and point it to the Skyrim VR plug in. Just put it in the mod's "plugin" folder. Switching to Mod Organzier 2 couldn't have been easier and has been completely bug free. I tried following the instructions to get NMM functioning with Skyrim VR but it never quite worked for me.
